What is SpellBound?

SpellBound is a port of the spellchecker code and user interface from the Mozilla Suite's Composer that enables spell checking in web forms such as html textarea / input elements (html input password elements are not checked by SpellBound) and rich text form elements. This allows you to spell check forms (e.g. message board posts, blog entries, wysiwyg, etc.) before submitting them when using your Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla Suite browser.

There are no special system requirements beyond those to run your browser and it has been verified to work with Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, OS/2, and FreeBSD. If you are running an optimized build of Firefox (e.g. any of the builds in the Third Party/Unofficial Builds forum at MozillaZine, etc.) then you should use the same libraries from an optimized Thunderbird build otherwise you may experience problems (see My optimized build isn't listed... will you provide support for it? section in the FAQ for more information). If you are using the builds available from http://www.mozilla.org/ (e.g. http://www.spreadfirefox.com/, http://www.getfirefox.com/, the builds available in the Firefox Builds forum at MozillaZine, ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/, etc.) the standard libraries available from this site are the ones you should use. The libraries are already included with the Mozilla Suite and do not need to be installed.
